Community Connection: Hosting a Special Brunch for Inmates at Osamkrom Camp Prison

Society frequently treats prison as a warehouse for “terrible people” rather than a place for reform. But because life is unpredictable, we should treat those inside with the empathy we would hope for ourselves.

Reaching out—whether through donations or time—is essential for successful reintegration.

In the spirit of compassion, I hosted a special brunch at Osamkrom Camp Prison in the central region titled “Locked but Not Forgotten.” It was a meaningful opportunity to show our brothers within the facility that they are still seen, valued, and very much remembered by the world outside.

Sowing Seeds of Health: Empowering Ghana’s Future Through Local Superfoods

Early childhood is the most critical time to instill lifelong nutritional habits. To promote indigenous Ghanaian ingredients, I visited Kids Palace School in Gomoa Jukwa (Central Region-Ghana) to teach KG2 pupils about the health benefits of pearl millet one of Ghana’s finest superfoods and the many ways it can be used to prepare food.

We had a blast transforming this nutrient-dense whole grain flour into tasty and healthy pancakes and doughnuts.

The pupils also added their own creative touch to the pastries by garnishing them with fresh fruits and toasted coconut flakes , proving that healthy eating can be both fun and delicious.
